Cron came through with a bases-loaded, two-out single in the third against Martin Perez (2-4). Los Angeles’ streaky designated hitter added an RBI triple in the fifth and a run-scoring double in the seventh inning of the Angels’ third straight win in a playoff push that probably can’t wait another weekend.

“We need to start winning some ballgames, and whatever it takes to do that, I’m on board,” Cron said after his first three-hit game since July 21. “We needed the runs.”
